Sacred to the Memory of

• John Howcutt of Cotes Deval in this County who died January 3rd 1819 Aged 80 Years.

Our time on Earth is term'd a Span,

But I survived the Age of Man;

And tho my Time was long on Earth,

A short Illness took away my Breath.

Repent in Time, embrace the present Hour;

Improve it wisely; For that's in your Power.

• Elizabeth wife of John Howcutt who died January 2nd 1826 Aged 81 Years.

See, Reader, here th'Effects of Adam's Fall.

Its Sin, alas, brought Death upon us all.

In dying, there is nothing else can ease us,

But living Faith in the Redeemer, Jesus.
