In the name of god amen. The 17th day of January In the yere of our lord god 1510 I Margarete Holcot wydowe of goode Remembrance and hole mynde make my last Will in this manner.

 

First I bequeth my soule unto almighty god and his holy Seynts And my body to be buried in our Lady Chapell of seynt myghells in Coventrey neighe unto the Sepulture of my husband.

 

I bequeth also unto the highe aulter of the same churche 20d.

 

And to seynte Anne aulter 8d.

 

Also to our Lady aulter 12d.

 

And to seynt Lawrence aulter 12d.

 

And to the Smythes aulter 4d.

 

And to the churche worke for my sepulture 6s.8d.

 

The Residue of all my bonds and goods rents and tents moovable and not moovable, I give and bequeth to John Holcote and to Thomas Holcote my sonnys equally to be divided into 2 even porcions betwene both theym for that entent they shall pay thereof fully my debts and receive suche debts which be owing unto me.

 

The which forsaid John Holcote and Thomas Holcote I make and ordeyn my lawfull executors. Overseers thereof Edmonde Hadley and William Carver and I will every of theym have for his labour 6s.8d.

 

Witnessynge whereof Sir Thomas Grene William Banwall and Robert Porter The date before rehersed.

Granted on 25 February 1510 [i.e. 1510-11] to Thomas Holcote and John Holcote.
